What is Spartan One-Stop? 

The Spartan One-Stop is designed to resolve most enrollment or billing account inquiries that arise for students and families. We aim to quickly and conveniently answer your questions so that you can focus on being a student. We will offer services related to student accounts, financial aid, and the registrar via in-person, phone, email, online chat, and the website.

Enrollment Services and Academic Strategic Planning (ESASP) Major Academic Unit (MAU) is a collection of units, including the Spartan One-Stop, that work together to support students in the following areas: Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Accreditation, Assessment, Curriculum, and Compliance.

Spartan One-Stop Vision: Our commitment is to be a beacon of guidance and assistance to the Spartan community so that each Spartan's interaction will be first in class and exceed expectations.

Student expectations are growing for choice, personalization, and customization. They demand flexibility, convenience, and experiences similar to what they receive with Amazon, Apple, and other customer service-centric organizations.  

The creation of a customer service focused office – a Spartan One-Stop – initially composed of the customer service groups of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts provides the opportunity for staff to nimbly answer a wide range of student questions. A One-Stop at MSU can increase student satisfaction by streamlining processes. The Spartan One-Stop will answer student inquiries that are highly specific and technical in nature.  

The Office of the Vice Provost of Enrollment and Academic Strategic Planning proposes a two-year, three-phase plan to implement the Spartan One-Stop. Ultimately, providing a seamless customer experience for the students will reduce time and mental strain while assisting in student persistence and increasing degree completion. 
The Enrollment One-Stop will be both a physical and virtual place where MSU optimizes student satisfaction by minimizing transaction burden, streamlining business processes, and eliminating barriers. This comprehensive approach addresses student lifecycle concerns, from first inquiry to post-graduate requests for transcripts to donation balances. Enrollment One-Stop will offer consistent, personalized customer service 24/7/365 through multichannels (chat, email, phone, and a digital portal, aka a dynamic and mobile-friendly website).

How to get involved

There are several ways to get involved in the construction of the Spartan One-Stop

  1. Apply to open Spartan One-Stop positions
    Search "one-stop" on the careers postings page.

  2. Serve on an adhoc committee
    Opportunities will be shared through the 23/24 academic year. Talk to your immediate supervisor to see what is right for you OR reach out to Colleen Thoman, Spartan One-Stop Director.

  3. Contribute to the process
    As adhoc committees present the building blocks for the Spartan One-Stop, various departments will have the opportunity to review and offer considerations for revision.

  4. Submit questions, comments and share your ideas.
    Thoughts and questions can also be shared with colleagues that are serving on an adhoc committee or with your supervisor so that they can carry your voice forward.
